Motorsport and competition
The fact that I was taken to races very early on in my childhood affected the way I look at motoring, typically a male sport. I spent many a Sunday morning at the track as a kid watching cars whizz up and down the disused airfield at Ta' Qali.
I can say I've seen the development of racing in Malta first hand, both as the daughter of a competitor and committee member in a number of racing clubs, as well as going on to become a competitor myself, and also being involved in marshalling, and for three years acting as a public relations officer with the local hillclimb and sprint club.
My family was also involved in an attempt to develop a 2km club circuit at Halfar, and old airfield currently also housing a dragraceway, in 1997; an attempt that failed because of political change in the country.
I started racing in 1989. I've raced in dragraces, hillclimbs and sprints and the occasional autotest and autocross, occasionally with success, sometimes not, on and off.
I'm looking forward to a comeback.... hopefully soon ;)
